Our new pet

Several weeks ago I blogged about a little bird that was in the backyard that let the kids get very close to it. Well, I think it's back!! While Gramps was here this evening, he noticed a bird just hovering right above the kids at a low branch. A few minutes later, it landed on a lawn chair. He just reached over and caught it. Both kids got to pet it. He let it go, then caught it a few minutes later as it was walking in the driveway. It wouldn't go away. After he left, Randall had to take gas to his mom for her lawn mower. Emma and I were drawing on the sidewalk with chalk, and this bird (Gramps said it was a robin) decided to hop on my leg. I was amazed! I couldn't believe a wild bird landed on my leg. Then it hopped to the other leg. It flew off for a few minutes, then came back, hopped on my leg, then pooped. Emma loved that! Don't know if this bird will hang around long or not!

Cheap Entertainment-Fish Hatchery...Cost=FREE!!

Cheap Entertainment-Sandy Beach

Today we took an outing to Heber Springs. I will blog about the Fish Hatchery later because this won't let me add the pics right now. That's were we started and then went to Sandy Beach to swim. This was Mac's first trip to the lake, and he loved it!! Cost of today's swimming excursion= FREE!!!
I knew if I wanted a picture of me, I would have to take it myself!! Of course, I remembered sunscreen for the kids, but forgot for me, so I am red tonight!!

Weird Combination

Okay, my kids have a palet in their mouths that I am not sure of. One day last week, Emma asked for scrambled eggs and hot dogs for lunch, and of course, Mac wanted the same. They asked, so I fixed it! YUCK!!

Not So Cheap Entertainment...but worth it!!

Earlier this week, we made a small trip to Wal-Mart to look for a new phone for the house. We had also been looking for a new pool for Emma and Mac. We knew we wanted plastic for easy clean-up, durability, and no blow-up. We found this little one with steps and a slide. The kids have been in it every day this week so far, and as you can tell from the pictures, Randall has been in it too. Although it was $30, I think it was well worth the money we spent, and it will be used all summer!!

Waiting on Izzy and Mekhi

I am so excited because my cousin, Kristie, is expecting twins. After the report I heard today, I believe they will be here any day. I am so excited for Kristie and her husband, David. Kristie and I were very close growing up. We are 1 year and 5 days apart in age (yes, I am older!!). I fondly remember all the little music shows we used to choreograph and sing in Memaw and Pepaw's living room...those were the days...no worries, just fun. Kristie was my maid of honor in my wedding. Anyway, back to the twins. When I found out Kristie was pregnant and was carrying twins, I started praying that she would have an uneventful pregnancy and deliver healthy, full-term babies. It seems that is going to happen. Kristie is close to her 36 week mark. Izzy weighs approximately 6 pounds and Mekhi weighs approximately 5 pounds, 10 ounces. I am so excited for those weights...they both weigh more in utero than Mac weighed when I brought him home from the NICU at 5 weeks. As soon as I hear about them being born and hopefully receive a pic via email, I will let you all know...until then, please keep them in your prayers!!

This morning we went on a playdate to the Searcy Cinema 8 to watch Horton Hears a Who. We had a great time. Cost of today's entertainment = $7. That include 3 admissions, 2 bags of popcorn, a Sprite, and a Dr. Pepper...not bad, not bad at all!!
This is the schedule for the rest of the summer...doors open at 11:00, movie starts at 11:30.

Show Us Where You Live- Master Bedroom

Ok, I know it's not Friday yet, but I have these pics on my memory card that I need to take to Walgreens, so I thought I would go ahead and post pics of our Master Bedroom...I posted a few after we got our new furniture and bedding a few months ago. When we moved in, our bedroom did with the old wallpaper for a while. It was floral, and if you know me, you know that flowers are not my thing!! Randall and I spend time last summer stripping wall paper (and it's a PAIN!!), sanding the wall, and then painting it. I knew I wanted the walls DARK. I've never had dark walls, and I love it!! We also put texture in the paint so the walls aren't smooth. The color we chose is Chocolate Cherry. It has a hint of red in the dark brown. The pictures make the walls look more red than they really are!! I tried to get the bedding in a little more metallic color (and it is bronze) to play off the darkness in the room.
This is a view from the doorway...You can see the end of our bed, the chest of drawers, and the window looking into our back yard. The building you see outside is one of Randall's 2 storage buildings. This is the one where all his tools are...eventually we would like to run electricity out there so it can be his little getaway!!
This is the view from the master bathroom, which is right beside the window you saw in the previous picture. The pictures above the bed are some that Randall bought me for Christmas right after we got married. The plates came from Home Interior. They all have some type of animal print. We also have two closets. Teh one on the far right is mine...it is walk-in. The one on the left is Randall's, and believe me, it is FULL!!
This is a view from the other side of the room as soon as you walk in the door. The mirror on the wall actually came off the dresser we had before this...I removed the glass, painted the frame gold, and then put it back together. As you can see, we didn't get the nightstands to go with our bedding, but we are in need of something a little taller. However, I love the king size bed, and it's even better now that Emma is sleeping in her bed more!!! LOTS OF ROOM!!
This is the view from my side of the bed. You can see into the master bath as well as into the hallway. My bridal portrait is hanging above the chest of drawers, and a wedding picture is in the frame on the chest. I am looking for a new lamp to put on the chest, but I haven't found just what I want yet. Beside the chest is a small stool that I got as a wedding gift. It has brown/black zebra print on it!!
This is a view from Randall's side of the bed. You can see Mac's Fisher-Price car and the swing set out the window. I need to order the curtains to go with my valance...I think I'll head to www. jcpenney.com right now!!
