My First Try with a Sippy Cup

We tried a sippy cup, but Mac isn't quite sure how to work it, yet. He finally started to figure it out once he got on the floor with it!!

12 months doctor appointment

Mac went to see Dr. Luy today. He weighed 19 pounds, 4 ounces, was 28 inches long, and his head was 45 cm. His iron was still a little low, so we have to stay on it. She said we could start on milk and table foods, especially things high in iron like spinach. He has an ear infection and is wheezing, and when he coughes, we have to give him updrafts. Hopefully we won't have to deal with the RSV thing. He did get shots, but he's a happy little boy!!

My Exersaucer

Memaw and Pepaw, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Benjy, Aunt Rita and Uncle Bob, and Puddin, Ricky, Cody, and Becca all went in together to get me this great toy for my birthday!! Mom thought it would be good because I love to play in the one at church in the nursery. I am still a ways from walking, so this gets me up and lets me move around! Once Momma got it put together, I got in and played for about 45 minutes. I just turned and played with all the farm animals. I had a lot of fun!! This is a great gift! Thanks everyone!!

Birthday Cake

We were very careful with Mac's birthday cake since he is still not sure how to chew. We did let him stick his hands in the icing and lick it off. Emma even put some icing on her fingers and stuck them in Mac's mouth. He was licking his lips for quite a while as to say, "Momma, give me some more of this stuff!!"

Happy 1st Birthday, Mac!!!

I can't believe my baby turned 1 today!! It seems like just yesterday he was born. This time last year was very tough on us...he was delivered by emergency c-section 11 weeks early. Today he is a very healthy 1 year old!! We had a birthday party today with friends and family. Mac got lots of goodies!! He got an exersaucer (since it will still be a while before he walks), a sing-with-me stage, lots more toys, and some clothes. He got his first taste of icing and cake. It was just an all-around great day. I can't believe my little boy is growing so fast. He goes to the pediatrician tomorrow for his 12 month shots and check-up. We are going to see about starting him on milk, and we're hoping we can take him off his iron. He had a blood test last week to see what his iron levels are, and we should get the results tomorrow. Wish us luck!!

Ok, since I have been such a bad blogger lately, I decided that I would just post some pics...Hope they all load ok!!

11 months old

I can't believe that in one month, you will be a year old. This time last year, we weren't even planning on having a baby for 3 more months. You have made this past year so special. You are such a healthy boy now. You weigh 19 pounds, 4 ounces, and are 26 1/2 inches long. That is not even in the 50%tile for an 8 month old, but I know you will catch up. You are crawling all over the place and getting into everything. We make sure we keep all the doors down the hallway closed except the door to your bedroom. You are pulling up to your knees, and just today, you finally figured out you could sit down on your bottom from your knees!! That's the only way you have figured out to sit by yourself. You have 4 teeth, and love babyfood....any kind of babyfood. It seems that sweet potatoes are your favorite, but anything with bananas run close 2nd. You are happy all the time. You are a very content baby, and you have made these past 11 months very special for your dad, Emma, and me. We love you

very much.

My First Christmas

Mac's first Christmas was great. Luckily, since all our family is close, we didn't have to travel outside of Searcy. We spent Christmas Eve lunch with Randall's family, then went to the 6:00 Christmas Eve Candelight service at church. Mac played "Baby Jesus" in a song that Rhonda Ellis sang. He was so cute and couldn't have been any better for the part. After church, we got out cookies, milk and our traditional McDonald's cheeseburger for Santa Clause. We got up and did Santa on Christmas morning. Both kids were very excited. Emma even did a nose-dive into her toys, which included her first Barbies. We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus, and had some birthday cake we had made for Jesus. We then went to my parents for breakfast, then on to my Aunt Debbie's for lunch. We had a great time, and Mac was so good. I think he enjoyed his first Christmas.

Cotton Bowl....Here we come!!

Well, it's official. The hogs are headed to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. They will be facing off against Missouri on January 1, 2008. Your daddy will be off work that day, so I guess we'll all be in front of the television rooting on the hogs....without Houston Nutt on the field. Guess we'll all see how it goes. OOOOOOOOO PIG SOIEE!!

My First Christmas Parade

The Searcy Christmas Parade was Saturday night. Emma is really into lights and parades, so we decided to bundle up and go. Although it was short, both Emma and Mac enjoyed it. (Mac slept through most of it!!) Mac was very festive in his "Santa's Lil Helper" Outfit. Luckily Grammy bought it in 12 months (before he was born!!), so we were able to layer clothes under it so he would stay warm.

Christmas Pictures

I decided that I was going to take pictures of Emma and Mac to include in our Christmas cards this year. I had them dressed Saturday morning to take pics with Santa at USA Drug, so I decided to put them in front of the Christmas tree. Needless to say, it was crazy trying to get them to both look at me and smile at the same time, but a few of the pictures turned out cute.
