Long, long weekend

Last night, Emma and Mac were really tired. They both took an early bath, then decided they wanted to watch a movie. Mac decided to lay in the floor with his blanket, and Emma decided to lay in Daddy's recliner. Don't they both look so comfy?

Turkey Man

Apparently Mac really likes turkey...he came into the living room at Randall's mom's house on Thanksgiving, and notice what he is carrying around in his hand...the turkey leg. I didn't get a picture, but he did try to take a bite of it!!

Fall Fun

On warm day this week, Randall decided to rake all the leaves and let Emma and Mac play outside. He raked each of them their own little pile, then used the blower to get the rest of the leaves to the curb. Needless to say, the kids had a great time playing!! Emma loved posing for the camera, but Mac was too busy to worry about the pictures Momma was taking.

Emma is STILL sick

Unfortunately, Emma is still sick. Today is her third day home from preschool. She isn't much into playing and is just sitting around the house, but she does seem to be some better today. Today she isn't complaining that she is tired all the time, and she is sitting up to watch television instead of laying down. Hopefully she'll be able to go to school tomorrow because they are having a Fruit Feast where the kids get to bring their favorite fruit. I would hate for her to miss that!!

And the verdict is...

Mac has asthma. We were not surprised at all. Dr. Kagy (the dr. he saw at the AR Allergy and Asthma Clinic) was wonderful!! She has given him a type of inhaled medicine to take twice a day, and she also gave him a rescue inhaler. He has to stay on his Singular so it will help, too. He did, however, pass his allergy test. We have to go back on Dec. 15 to see Dr. Kagy and the respiratory therapist to evaluate how the medicines she put him on are working. Then we go back in a year for allergy testing again. At least now we have answers.
On the other hand, Emma is sick now. Randall took her to see Dr. McAdams yesterday because Dr. Thomas was off. Her tonsils were swollen and she had a sore throat. Dr. M said this is going around, and it usually has a fever or 100-101 with it. He said she needed to stay home today again from daycare and see how she feels. I felt bad because she told me Sunday that her throat hurt, but I thought it was because she knew we were taking Mac to the doctor on Monday!!

Arkansas Allergy and Asthma Clinic

Hey, I just wanted to ask that all of you keep Mac in your prayers. We are taking him to see Dr. Kagy at Arkansas Allergy and Asthma Clinic on Monday at 9:45. For the last month and a half, Mac has been coughing a lot at night. Dr. Thomas, his pediatrician, put him on hydroxizine when this all started, but it doesn't help his coughing. It does, however, help him sleep. Two weeks ago, she put him on Delsym cough medicine. It doesn't do much good either. The things she said 2 weeks ago led me to believe she thinks he might have asthma. She said if the cough medicine didn't work, she would send him to an allergist in Searcy or a pulmonologist at AR Children's Hospital. Not be negative, but I didn't want Mac seeing an allergist in Searcy. My mom recommended Dr. Kagy because she saw her a couple of years ago when she had chronic hives. She was highly satisfied, and suggest that I take Mac to see her. I am not sure what Monday has in store for us, and I know God is holding our little man in his hands, but I am sure that any little prayers you can offer up couldn't hurt (they sure helped a lot 21 months ago when this little miracle was born!!) Thanks for all your prayers in advance!!---Kelly

Halloween, 2008

Halloween has come and gone. Needless to say, my children racked up on the candy. They also got movies and coloring books and crayons. Emma was a butterfly (later it was a princess because she was tired of wearing the wings) and Mac was a scarecrow. Aren't they just too cute!!
